OUR PARTY SEASON LIPSTICK ESSENTIALS

As the party season is in full effect we all want to look and feel our best. When the outfits are chosen your make up just completes your look. There is nothing quite like a rouge lip during the festivities. We are fans of the lighter matte rouge but do like a plum lip colour (depending on how we feel that day!). Below are our favourite lipsticks we have been using this season.

Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint

All we can say about this product is WOW! We are obsessed with Fenty Stunna lip paint.

Rihanna debuted her make up line Fenty in 2017 and we haven’t heard anything less than great reviews. We decided to give Fenty Stunna lip paint a try as we love adding a POP of colour to glam up our festive look.

The lip paint comes in a sleek and stylish bottle equipped with a wand to apply to your lips. The packaging itself sets the lip paint apart from other brands that are currently out there. The design and its ease of use make it a unique product. An added bonus, Fenty Beauty says that this product works for all skin tones.

The Stunna paint is an intense red but looks absolutely gorgeous when applied. You may suffer the shock factor at first (as we did) for the level of brightness you get from that first stroke as it is like actual paint. But once you have finished applying the lip paint it dries within seconds and gives you a stunning matte finish. We recommend having a few cotton buds at hand to tidy up the corners of your mouth.

What we love about this particular lip paint is the lightness of it. Some lipsticks can make your lips feel a bit heavy and drying. The Fenty Stunna lip paint does the opposite. You hardly feel there is anything on your lips. Also, we find with other products when eating and drinking you need to constantly reapply your lipstick. You don’t have this problem with Stunna Lip Paint. We both can agree that we only topped up once. The lip paint literally stays on your lips for 24 hours. A definite 5 star rating. Maybelline 757 Naked Brown

This product is not only a great lipstick but smells so good too! The lipstick is one of those products you can carry in your handbag and whip out to glam your look when you are on the go. We use the Naked Brown as the colour works really well with our skin tone and is the perfect autumn/winter look.

The colour is a deep burgundy and of course has been an on trend colour for a few seasons. We must say a super dark lip never goes out of style.

Sleek True Colour Lipstick Russian Roulette 795

This has to be one of our all time favourites. It is a gorgeous matte red that is bright, light, easy to apply and carry around in your handbag. We are big fans of Sleek’s matte range as it pretty much lasts all day without having to constantly touch up.

So if you want that high impact look with a touch of a sophisticated red you should not go any further than Sleek’s Russian Roulette. Packed with Vitamin E, this lipstick keeps your lips hydrated and soft.

An added benefit is that it works well with a variety of skin tones. It is extremely well pigmented but you will need to add a few strokes to get that bright red in your face pout!

We Keep It Simple The Make-Up Removal Routine

There is nothing quite like taking off your make-up after a long day. It just feels good!

But sometimes we all feel a little lazy when it comes to taking off our make-up each day *cough* …Michelle.

However, it is important to have a simple routine that doesn’t take hours. Plus we all know that leaving make-up on your skin overnight is BAD!

We both have sensitive skin so we steer clear from products that can be harsh on the face. Also, we do not like to use products that are drying and take away from the natural oils in your face. That’s why we keep it Simple.

We can not fault the Simple range. It is very kind to your skin leaving it feeling soft and refreshed. And thought it would be nice to share with you all our night time routine when removing your make-up. We hope our post gives you some bed time inspiration. Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes

Our make-up removal routine is pretty much identical! The Simple facial wipes are very smooth on the face and is the quick way to get rid of make-up. Use one or two wipes, depending on how much make-up your wearing. Also, they get rid of waterproof mascara with ease.

Simple Facial Wash

We love the Simple Facial Wash Gel! We have used this facial wash since our teenage years and it has worked wonders. It is not like a harsh soap that leaves your face feeling tight and dry. Also, it doesn’t get too foamy. Just place a pea size amount to your fingertips and massage gently onto your face and neck after splashing a bit of warm water onto your skin. It is a great way to get rid of any residue off of your face that could not be taken off completely from the wipes. Trust us when we say, it leaves your skin irresistibly soft and supple. It also makes you feel refreshed so we would also recommend using this facial wash in the morning too.

Simple Micellar Cleansing Water

We have only recently been using the Simple micellar water. Before using the cleansing water we used to use the Simple Facial Toner. The toner is a great alternative for the cleansing water if you wish to give this a try too. What is perfect about using the Simple cleansing water is not only does it gently remove make-up but also helps to unclog pores and remove impurities from the face. The Micellar water is full of multi-vitamins that allows the skin to breathe. It is not heavy or sticky and makes your skin feel so clean. Simply use a cotton pad or two, to gently remove any further residue left on the skin. There is no need to rinse it off. It can used as the perfect addition to a toner, morning and night!

Simple Moisturiser

Finishing off our make-up removal routine we use the Simple Cleansing lotion. Again you only need to add a pea sized amount to your face. You can add to your fingertips and massage into the face or use a cotton pad. So whether you have oily or dry skin, it is a great moisturiser for all skin types. It does not give your face an oily shine. It is light and is the perfect way to complete your make-up removal routine.

Our Daily Beauty Routine

We both love makeup and experimenting with different tones of lipsticks, eye shadows and blushers. The only difference with the products we use is normally the tones, colours and shades.

Lets be honest in the mornings we don’t have the time we would like to beautify ourselves so we keep our daytime look very fresh and natural. When going out to events or restaurants, we like to add a touch of glam. So our beauty tip to brighten up our day look for an evening out, is to add some highlight to our cheekbones and a rouge lip.

Primer

Before adding foundation to our skin we always apply a good base to our faces. We recommend The Body Shop’s All-In-One Insta Blur. We both have oily prone skin and don’t want to add too much buildup on the face which causes clogged pores. The Body Shop Primer is great to use as it’s perfect for sensitive skin. Also, it’s light, fluffy and smooth in texture and not heavy on the face.

Foundation

Foundation can be a tricky one. We love wearing it, but it can be challenging finding the right shade for your skin tone. We both swear by MAC Studio Fix fluid foundation. It’s perfect because for one, it does not look like your wearing anything on your face. Secondly, it’s not too thick on your skin and feels light. Thirdly, SPF 15 is added to the foundation which is great for all seasons especially when the sun is shining. The finish is smooth and gives your skin a radiant glow. We’ve been using Studio Fix for years!

Shelley wears SPF15 Studio Fix NW50 and Michelle wears SPF15 Studio Fix NC50. We definitely recommend that you go in store and test out the foundations before buying so you can find your perfect match. Another great thing about using MAC foundations is that they recycle the foundation containers. So if you save around six MAC empty foundation containers, take the containers into your nearest MAC store you then receive a free lipstick.

Concealer

Michelle uses MAC concealer NC50 mainly for the under-eyes. Being born with those pesky dark circles under the eyes, this liquid concealer is the perfect item to cover up those panda eyes. Simply dab a little under the eyes and use your foundation brush to blend in to avoid streaky lines. It certainly makes a difference to waking up tired looking eyes.

Eyes

During the daytime we like to keep our eye make up to a minimum. We love to wear Bourjois Volume Glamour Ultra Care Mascara Ultra Volume Noir Black. This is a must have mascara and really brings out your eyes. While so many other products claim to give your eyelashes length and volume Bourjois actually works! Apply a few layers to your lashes and you will definitely see your eyes POP.

When we want to look that extra glam we use Naked eye palette by Urban Decay. Which has a variety of different bronze colours and is perfect for our skin tones. To finish the look on the eyes why not add eyelash extensions to give the lashes even more volume.

Powder

We have oily skin and tend to get quite shiny during the day. To keep the shine at bay, Shelley uses Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder Basic Brown 4. Only pat throughout the day on your T-Zone which takes that frustrating shine away. This powder is a must have and has been a trusted product for years!

Bronzer

To highlight our cheeks and add that necessary glow we use the MAC Sun Power Mineralize A74. It works well with all skin tones and definitely adds that sun kissed effect to your face.

Lips

A nude lip for us is the way forward for a daytime look. We use Revlon’s Creme 671 Mink lipstick which is light an amazing with that natural colour. Natural lipstick is great for an evening look too especially when you want to go for more dramatic eyes. When we add a pop of colour to the lip we keep our eyes more natural.

For a rouge or more darker lip we love Maybelline 757 Naked Brown which looks and smells divine. Lipsticks by Sleek are amazing! The colours we swear by are True Colour Lipstick Sheen Cherry 790 and Mulberry 788. Also, you cannot forget your Vaseline which adds shine and also prevents your lips from getting chapped and dry. 🙂
